This weekâs seed đ±: Reciprocity as a dance, as medicine, as existing outside of linear thinking
The compost đȘ±: The Two of Cups
The Two of Cups offers us an expansion of the definition of reciprocity. A departure from âan eye for an eyeâ mindset, the Two of Cups invites us into a reciprocity that is centered on humanness.
This means honoring the strengths and weaknesses of others; seeing and valuing othersâ and your own gifts, and embracing and respecting limitations. Reciprocity does not ask for equalityâthe idea that we all get the same sized stool to stand onâbut rather it requires a focus on equity, which acknowledges differences in our height, weight, whether or not we can stand on the stool. It sees us as individuals with our own unique needs, abilities, and boundaries. Reciprocity isnât an equal exchange but an equitable flow.
