Welcome to the Greenhouse 🌱 where we plant seeds for the week ahead with a tarot reading and more! Consider this your digital quiet place to exhale, read, and nourish your busy lil brain to ground you for the upcoming week. Maybe we’ll bask in the sun a little, too (wearing SPF, of course!) So if you haven’t already, please consider upgrading your subscription!

This week’s seed 🌱: Reciprocity as a dance, as medicine, as existing outside of linear thinking

The compost 🪱: The Two of Cups

The Two of Cups offers us an expansion of the definition of reciprocity. A departure from “an eye for an eye” mindset, the Two of Cups invites us into a reciprocity that is centered on humanness.

The Two of Cups from the Rider-Waite tarot deck.

This means honoring the strengths and weaknesses of others; seeing and valuing others’ and your own gifts, and embracing and respecting limitations. Reciprocity does not ask for equality—the idea that we all get the same sized stool to stand on—but rather it requires a focus on equity, which acknowledges differences in our height, weight, whether or not we can stand on the stool. It sees us as individuals with our own unique needs, abilities, and boundaries. Reciprocity isn’t an equal exchange but an equitable flow.
