Welcome to the Greenhouse 🌱, a new weekly installment of TMI! Every Sunday, we’ll plant seeds for the week ahead. Consider this your digital quiet place to exhale, read, and nourish your busy lil brain to ground you for the week ahead. Maybe we’ll bask in the sun a little, too (wearing SPF, ofc!) This first edition is free but starting next week it will only be available to paid subscribers. I hope you find it useful, or at the very least, enjoyable—and consider becoming a paid subscriber if you’re not already.
This week’s seed 🌱: Embodiment as tending; embodiment as the first step to transformation.
The compost 🪱: Queen of Pentacles
The Queen of Pentacles reminds us that our bodies are homes that need tending. We are in constant relationship and communication with our bodies—regardless of how aware we are of that exchange. How does your body communicate with you? What is it asking of you? Maybe you need to slow down, maybe you need to call your bestie, maybe you need to say “No” more, or say “Yes” more. There is so much happening in the world right now and we can better show up for it all (including for ourselves) when we are well-resourced internally: when we respect, return, and listen to the body.
Speaking of the world, the Queen of Pentacles also reminds us that the world is our home—a home we are, like it or not, unequivocally devoted to and responsible for. We all have a role to play: “The Queen of Pentacles is an invitation to envision what [an ideal] world is to you and then choose how you’ll participate in creating it,” writes Jessica Dore in Tarot for Change. How can we align our values with our actions? Embodiment can help us connect with our values so that our actions are oriented from our moral foundations rather than our whizzing buzzing brimming brains.
