The compost 🪱: The King of Cups
This past week, my family and I went to the beach near our house to look at the full moon. When we went out onto the rocky beach, of course our son wanted to grab a rock. So, my partner bent down to let the baby pick one up to play with. Then we went home.
The next day, a police officer stopped by our house (yikes) to return my partner’s wallet. We had no idea he had even lost it. Apparently, it had dropped out of his pocket at some point when we were on the beach and was swept out to sea. Somehow, a woman found it and turned it in. We were all shocked that this wallet had made its way from the swells of the Puget Sound back into our hands. It was the opposite of lost at sea; it had been found at sea.
This idea fits perfectly with our card for the week ahead: the King of Cups. This card wants us to know ourselves through surrendering to our inner ocean: our emotions. And this doesn’t mean making unhealthy choices because we feel sad or mad. This simply means that, instead of attaching a narrative to your sadness, or distracting yourself from your anger or grief, you allow yourself to just feel. Feel all of it.
